An elderly duo were detained by the police at the Penang International Airport (LTAPP) in Bayan Lepas at 10:30pm on Tuesday (March 11) after one of them joked about the other’s luggage containing a bomb.

According to a report by Berita Harian, Barat Daya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, shared that a 64-year-old local man jokingly claimed that there was a bomb inside his 60-year-old friend’s luggage during baggage screening at the LTAPP check-in counter. They were there for a flight to China.
