WATCH: Elderly Man in Luxury Car Overtakes Dangerously in Johor, Forcing Oncoming Vehicle to a Sudden Stop

A recent dashcam video shared by MYNEWSHUB has been going viral, showing a luxury car pulling a reckless overtake that almost led to a serious accident.

In the video, the luxury car is seen speeding in the next lane in the wrong direction, barely missing an oncoming sedan, forcing it to stop while the luxury car speeds away.

The driver was arrested in less than 24 hours

Batu Pahat District Police Chief, ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Bin Abdullah Sani shared that the Batu Pahat Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPTD) managed to track down and arrest the driver in less than 24 hours, as reported by Berita Harian.

According to a statement, BSPTD arrested a 65-year-old local man in Taman Cemerlang Jaya, Batu Pahat, Johor, for driving recklessly and dangerously.

His urine test results were negative

According to the initial police investigation, the incident took place on March 8 at around 8:19 AM along Jalan Sri Bengkal, Parit Yaani, Batu Pahat, when the driver was heading from Parit Yaani to Sri Medan, Batu Pahat.

A urine test confirmed he was drug-free, and background checks showed no prior criminal record.

He has since been taken in for further investigation under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
