A video of a group of Makciks learning Mandarin leaves us all feeling fuzzy inside, showcasing how Malaysians are striving to learn more about each other!

The 2-minute video uploaded by @azlkhas witnessed a group of ladies engrossed in a Mandarin language class taught by her mother.

The ladies were diligently taking notes, and in a deep discussion on specifics of the use of ‘yau’ and ‘pu yau’.

In her tweet, @azlkhas writes, “It is cute witnessing my mother teaching Mandarin to makcik-makcik.”

The video which has garnered more than 7.2k retweets saw @azlkhas explaining that the Mandarin class took place before their Al Quran class that very same day.

The class did not stop there as in her thread, she also shared the teacher explaining the use of you and me.

Though the Makciks may not be masters of the language just yet, their efforts in trying to learn another language, especially one spoken by a different race at that, is worthy of our praise.
