Many of us see the police as authoritative figures who help to protect us and to fight crime. However, sometimes, we forget that they are human as well and are similar to the rest of us.
In a Facebook video that has gone viral, we can see an abang polis who was on patrol asking drivers to not “do racing.”
The police officer was in a white patrol car rounding the corner when he saw several parked Hondas by the shoulder of the road.
Judging by the smoke in the video, it seems that they were vaping and chatting when the police came.
Right after the abang polis saw the parked cars, he used the loudspeaker to say:
“Dear beloved abang-abang Honda, please do not race. I am tired. Please remember your loved ones on the road. Bye.”
It seems as if the advice was well-taken and the police drove off.
Netizens in the comments commended the abang polis for his way of speaking which was not overly harsh.
“More often than not, police that are okay like this, confirm the people will respect and listen to their advice.”
“It’s a loss if you don’t listen to soft advice like this. There is a reason why they gave this advice, for the safety of all.”

Kudos to the abang polis for giving sound advice! We hope more Malaysians will be more vigilant and careful on the roads.
