Just over 2 weeks ago, Malaysian were brought on a ride of emotions when Najib was sentenced to 12 years prison.

Many Malaysians believed that justice has been served while others think that his treatment would be different than what other prisoners face.

Recently, a WhatsApp message has been circulating online mentioning that former prime minister is not in a prison cell but is given a house within the prison grounds. It also mentioned that these houses are meant for senior prison officers.

Jabatan Penjara Malaysia has since issued a statement stating that,

“The messages circulating around are inaccurate, stop spreading false information.”

A couple of weeks ago, there was another false info that was circulating online on Najib’s alleged special treatment in prison. That info was debunked by the Prison Dept as well.

Remember not to share any messages you receive without verifying the info, folks. Let’s all be responsible netizens.
