Sometime last year, a Char Siew vendor went viral for dancing to Blackpink songs, and he shocked Malaysians even more after revealing that he was a Master’s graduate from a university.
This year, however, the vendor, Samous Chok received criticism after his father went viral for abusing and hurting a dog. The incident happened back in June and during that time, Samous said that he couldn’t comment further because he was not at the scene. In a recent interview with BFM 財今, Samous finally addressed the matter and apologised on behalf of his dad.
In the interview, Samous said that he received a call from his brother about the incident, and said that he didn’t know how to react because it was too chaotic.
“When I encounter chaotic things, I really don’t know whether what I do is right or wrong. I can only tell what I think I know.”
Here’s what happened
His father has a farm, and the dog was new to the farm but it often attacked other dogs, so his father was forced to take the dog to another farm. He forced the dog into his car but the dog fought back by constantly barking and wanted to bite him. However, Samous’ father did not realise that the dog’s feet were injured and bleeding, and coincidentally, the public saw that and started recording.
He wanted to bring the dog to the vet but the public took away his car keys and did not let him leave.
A police report was made, and the dog, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
Samous, however, apologised on behalf of his father.
“My father did not reach out to me for help because he was stubborn.”
If he could turn back time, Samous said he would’ve apologised immediately after the incident.
“And I would just let the police handle the matter, and not help anyone. Of course, as a son, I would want my dad to be okay.”

We hope that Samous’s father will recover from all the traumatic experiences.
