Ever since the pandemic was declared, going out without a mask is seen as a crime with anti-maskers being ridiculed.
With vaccines being made available now to people around the world, the United States of America is the second country with the most vaccinated population, the first being China.
As of now, data from Google shows that 117,647,439 people (35.8%) in the USA has been fully vaccinated while 153,986,312 (46.9%) have taken at least one shot of the vaccine. In the latest announcement by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), they have announced that fully vaccinated individuals can now take off their masks at certain places.
In the video, CDC director and doctor, Rochelle Walensky said:
“Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing.”
“If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic. We have all longed for this moment when we can get back to some sense of normalcy.”
However, there are certain places where even fully vaccinated people will need to wear their masks and they are:
- Aeroplanes, buses, trains and other public transport settings
- Health care settings
- Businesses or workplaces where a face mask is required
We certainly hope that our vaccination program can be sped up just so that some of our anxiety can be let off. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments.
