A bus carrying over 40 students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) collided with a Perodua Alza in a freak accident early Monday morning (June 9), leading to the deaths of 15 students. Following this, a student who survived the crash recalled how the bus driver had allegedly been speeding when the accident happened.
Now, another student survivor has revealed how she had apparently asked the bus driver to slow down multiple times, but the driver allegedly ignored her requests.
According to a report by Harian Metro, this revelation was shared by Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, who visited the student, 23-year-old Lili Suzana Mat Yaakob, at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB).

Lili Suzana told Datuk Seri Dr Noraini that she had warned the driver that he was going too fast.
“She said the driver was driving too fast and she reprimanded the driver many times not to drive too fast,”
“She is still traumatised. In such a situation, anyone would definitely be traumatised, let alone when the vehicle overturns. We can see the effects of the trauma clearly, so we are offering counselling services to the victims and their family members,” she explained.
Lili Suzana isn’t the only student at the hospital
Apart from her, another student, Nor Erika Elysha Mohd Zaidi, was also receiving treatment at the same hospital.
“One of them (Nor Erika Elysha) is still receiving medication and is not fully conscious, while the other (Lili Suzana) can talk to us and appears stable,”
“What is important is that they regain their enthusiasm and continue their studies. We pray that they recover soon,” Datuk Seri Dr Noraini added.
