UMT UMNO Student Club Defends Concert-Like Event After Receiving Flak From PAS Youth Council

Recently, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) held a Malam Galau UMT 2023 event where students were seen dancing together as there was a concert by the end of the night.

Many took to social media to condemn the situation, including the Dewan Pemuda PAS Negeri Terengganu (DPPNT).

“The organisation of this concert is clearly the thorn in the flash to poison the thoughts and culture of the people of Terengganu, which is clearly contaminating the thoughts of young people with a culture of hedonism,” they wrote.

A Twitter posting by MALAYSIA MOST VIRAL echoed DPPNT’s sentiment.

“Every month, they’ll ask their parents back home for money. Which university is this?”

 

Well, it looks like they didn’t get the full story

The UMNOsiswa UMT organisation is now seeking an apology from DPPNT for allegedly spreading lies about the university and their students without gaining the full context of what happened the night of the event.

“After watching the live broadcast of the video via the YouTube link, we found it was not the same as what netizens have described. Everything went smoothly, orderly and politely and in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the university.”

“At the time, only a handful of students livened up the atmosphere, but what was targeted was the last minute of the video so as to discredit the university, especially on social media,” they wrote.

 

They also called for DPPNT to do better

“The UMNOsiswa Supreme Working Council of UMT has called for all parties and any political figures involved to apologise for actions that were only to seek cheap publicity and made very immature messages without a motion to investigate from the parties involved.”

“We from UMNOsiswa UMT are calling for mature politics to be established so that all disputes and disagreements that invite universal anger are avoided,” they added.
