By now, you would have heard about the Uber driver who went viral for robbing a pregnant lady at knife-point when he arrived to pick her up from Mid Valley to Puchong. And if you have not, read it here, now! You’re probably wondering what happened to the robbers since the lady made a police report.
Well, we’ve got good news for you, because this time, justice has prevailed as the police recently announced that they have arrested the 22-year-old suspect. According to China Press, he was remanded yesterday and the police will be detaining him for seven days to assist with investigations.
Arriving at the court this morning around 11.25am, the suspect who was dressed in a purple prison uniform, avoided the reporters’ cameras. The police said that they will be investigating the case under armed robbery and are currently trying to locate the other suspect who was in the car. They also stated that they have seized the suspect’s car and his mobile phones as evidence in the case.
However, the the other suspect said he wasn’t involved in the robbery and claimed that he did not know who was the front ‘passenger’ who robbed the pregnant lady. Based on police records, they found that the suspect has two previous criminal records.
Awesome job by the police and kudos for their quick action!
