For some students, the best part about attending college or university is having the absolute freedom to do whatever they want. Unfortunately, some choose to try out recreational drugs such as marijuana, and do it without thinking about the consequences.

Just yesterday, two varsity students studying at a university college in Selangor were busted by the police for smoking marijuana.

The two apprehended students were only 19 and 20 years old, and they are majoring in economics and management studies respectively, as reported by Kwong Wah.

According to Kajang police chief, the raiding team received information about the scene and raided a unit in Bangi at around 6pm. The two students were caught at the scene while two blocks of marijuana weighing at 23 grams were seized from the middle room of their apartment.

The drugs were said to be worth about RM250.

The police believe that the two suspects have been indulging in this activity for almost a year. Their urine test came out positive, which confirmed that they did indeed take marijuana.

Perhaps the saddest part was that both of them were in their final semesters of their studies and are supposed to graduate right after that semester. Now that they’re arrested for drug abuse, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll be able to complete their studies. How sad. 🙁

This news quickly garnered many netizens’ attention as it’s definitely sad to see two youngsters with promising futures ruin their lives with drugs.

“When I was in university, some of my friends smoked weed for fun. They were lucky to get away with it. Unfortunately, these two boys aren’t,” a netizen said.

The duo will be remanded from 26th to 29th October, and if proven guilty, they could face up to five years of jail time and a maximum of nine cane strokes.

So guys, there are many things to try in life, but do think of the risks and consequences before doing anything you might regret!
