Riding a motorcycle is far from the safest means of transportation in the country. With poor enforcement of road regulations, increasing numbers of reckless and aggressive drivers, and not to mention a kazillion pot holes, riding a motorcycle prove to be substantially hazardous.
In recent reports, Konsortium Expressway Shah Alam Selangor Sdn Bhd (KESAS) has filed a police report when a tripwire was found tied across a motorcycle lane.
According to FMT, the wire that was dangerously stretched from one beam to another was discovered in the wee hour of 5am on Friday by a patrolman doing his rounds.
Thankfully, so far no one has fallen prey to the painful ploy, besides the patrolman who suffered minor injuries having ridden into it. The pain is unimaginable. Let’s not imagine if someone had actually ridden into the wire at full speed.

A representative from Kesas gave a statement to Bernama confirming the report that a patrolman suffered minor injuries from the said tripwire. The spokesperson revealed that the intent of the tripwire was to incapacitate the motorist before monitoring robbers move it to rob the unsuspecting victim.
Photographs and statements have been handed over to the police to aid the investigation. Kesas is said to fully cooperate with authorities and their investigations to ensure the security of the highway. 24-hours patrols have also been dispatched to prevent similar incidents.
To all motorcyclists out there, be safe.
