Three men were arrested after their activities involving the theft of Telekom Malaysia (TM) cables in Pasir Puteh went viral on social media.
According to Kosmo!, Ipoh District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the suspects, aged between 24 and 40, were arrested at separate locations around Ipoh and Chemor.

He stated that all three local men had prior records related to criminal and drug offences.
āPolice detected the viral video yesterday, which showed a group of men believed to be stealing cables in the Pasir Puteh area.ā
āChecks revealed that a police report had been lodged on the same day by TM regarding the loss of 30 metres of cable following an inspection at Jalan Batik 6, Pasir Kuning in Pasir Puteh,ā he said.

According to him, preliminary questioning revealed that all three suspects admitted to being involved in the case, which is currently under investigation.
The suspects were taken to the Central Police Station, and the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
āMembers of the public who have information related to the incident are urged to come forward to assist the investigation by contacting the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 05-2451500 or any nearby police station,ā he added.
