Three inmates placed in the same cell with a recently deceased inmate due to Covid-19 are now positive with the virus according to the Penang Remand Prison Director Mohamed Jusoh Ismail.
He added that there were 26 prisoners in the cell, and after the prison received information that the inmate who died was Covid-19 positive the remaining 25 were immediately isolated and quarantined.
“As of yesterday, 18 inmates have been found positive with Covid-19, while eight of them who were placed in the same cell were found negative of the virus.”
