Now that it’s election season again, your social medias have probably been bombarded with all kinds of materials regarding political parties, candidates and more. Not gonna lie, some of it can be hella confusing.

But fret not for there is this website that is creating awareness and educating Malaysians on the upcoming GE15 in a ridiculously creative and fun way!

Starting off at VOTEORDIÉ‘s ‘shop’, it showcases the various luxury, branded products that politicians have worn and how much they cost.

Website 2

Upon clicking into any of it, VOTEORDIÉ relates the price of the item back to what the community could have spent that money on.

For instance:

Website 1

VOTEORDIÉ shares how that infamous Burberry shirt worn by former and acting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri could have easily fed numerous middle and low income families.

Exploring the website further, the ‘Women’ and ‘Men’ categories showcases full lists of candidates contesting in GE15 based on gender. And the ‘Stories’ tab brings you to Malaysian street artist and political graphic designer, Fahmi Reza’s TikTok page, where he educates the general public on democracy.

Website 3

The ‘About us’ tab shares, “Voteordié aims to highlight just some of the immense wealth that Malaysia’s political elite have accumulated by various means over their years in service. The average Malaysian wage is RM3,037. The minimum wage in 2022 is half of that.”

Can Malaysians be accurately represented by politicians who flaunt jewellery and clothes worth more than what most Malaysians will ever see in their lifetime? That’s your decision. Your vote is your voice. Speak loudly on November 19.”

This website is honestly an absolute delight to check out. There’s so much more to see, but we’ll leave that to you to explore, have fun and learn about our political landscape.

Kudos, VOTEORDIÉ!
