Graduating is a huge milestone for any student. It symbolises transitioning into a new chapter in life and stepping into adulthood. While some have the privilege of sharing this milestone with their family and loved ones, those studying overseas have it a little harder due to the distance.
This Singaporean girl named Ranie who studied in Australia faced the same obstacle when she recently graduated as her grandfather, who resides in Singapore, can’t walk much after he suffered a stroke in early 2018. So, she decided to fly back home and have a personal graduation photoshoot with him! Aww!
The photos were uploaded on social media by Little Panny Photography, a boutique photo studio based in Singapore specialising in Newborn, Maternity & Family photography, and they immediately went viral after warming thousands of netizens’ hearts.
Ranie’s grandparents often took care of her when she was younger as her parents frequently went away for work. So, her graduation ceremony was understandably emotional as her grandfather could not travel to Australia and see her in her robes.
To address this issue, Ranie decided to fly back to Singapore and sought the services of the photography studio to capture these beautiful images of herself in her robes with her beloved grandfather. Ray, co-head of Jen Pan photography (Little Panny Photography is a subsidiary of this company), was quoted by Mothership as saying,
“The session was heartwarming seeing how she took great care of grandpa and it was especially emotional when grandpa asked her when she will be leaving again.”

What a gorgeous and touching series of photos! Congratulations to Ranie for graduating and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours! <3
