A Malaysian voter was willing to spend RM40,000 just to return to his hometown in Muar, Johor from Saudi Arabia so that he can vote in the 15th General Election (GE15). The man, 40-year-old Datuk Radzi Mansor said that he is glad that he was able to come back to elect a Member of Parliament (MP) for Muar this GE15.

As reported by Bernama, Radzi, who is a chief executive officer (CEO) of a travel agency as well as a hotel operator in Saudi Arabia returned to his home in Jalan Ibrahim in Muar with his father Mansor Salim, 76 on 30 October 2022. He also shared that his return home this GE15 also meant that he was able to visit his family in Johor.

Speaking to reporters while casting his ballot at SMK Sri Muar polling centre today, Radzi shared,

“What is wrong with spending money to fulfil my responsibilities as a citizen? After all, general elections are held only every five years,”

Radzi has been residing in Saudi Arabia for the past 14 years and would be returning to the country on Tuesday together with his father. Speaking of GE15, he hopes that the leaders elected by the people, especially the residents of Muar, can serve with sincerity and develop this area to be on par with cities around the world.

So, what do you guys think of Radzi’s willingness to spend RM40,000 so that he can perform his civic duty as a Malaysian? Share your thoughts with us in the comments and stay tuned to WORLD OF BUZZ for the latest GE15-related news!
