Several male influencers were criticised for cross-dressing at an event recently, with many Malaysian social media users expressing their concerns about the normalising of LGBTQ culture in the country.

Malaysian actor, Sharnaaz Ahmad also shared his thoughts on the matter and said the influencers should’ve followed the law.

“I don’t care about the business in your pants, the law is the law”

In the first video posted on his Instagram account last night (February 17), Sharnaaz blamed the organisers for inviting the influencers without taking into account the sensitivity of Malaysians.

“I don’t understand what has happened to TV stations and electronic media today.”

“Back then, men were banned from appearing on TV for having long hair. What happened today?”

Sharnaaz also clarified that he doesn’t care about how the influencers identify with their genders, but told them not to express the idea on public TV as kids are watching.

“I don’t care about the business in your pants, that’s your right.”

“Sometimes, I have to peek at what my son is watching on YouTube. Don’t influence the kids. They watch, and they’ll follow,” Sharnaaz said.

The actor also told the influencers not to try so hard to make everyone like them for who they are, saying,

“I have friends like you guys, too. But they’re all baffled by how proud you are about the culture.”

“Fahmi Fadzil, take control before it gets out of control”

In a second video posted on his Instagram account, Sharnaaz urged the relevant authorities to take action before things get out of hand.

“It will be out of control if you don’t take control now, Fahmi Fadzil (Minister of Communication and Digital).”

“Don’t let us become like other countries. They will not listen to you when they get into power. Trust me, don’t wait until it’s too late. I love my country.”

What do you think of Sharnaaz’s take on this? Do you think it’s time the relevant Ministries do something about the culture?
