The things you do for love <3

Whether you are on team Apple or team Android, I think we can all agree that smartphones are definitely not cheap. There’s even a survey showing Malaysians would need to work 30.3 days in order to afford the new iPhone 13 Pro.

A Facebook post went viral a few days back showcasing this devoted husband saving RM20 notes for a whole year for the sole purpose of making his wife happy!

The retail price for an iPhone 13 Pro starts at RM4,899, which is considered quite an exorbitant price for some people.

Facebook user, Nick Hiew shared his joy in a public Facebook group, ‘iPhone 吹水站’ after being able to surprise his wife with an iPhone 13 Pro which he saved up for nearly a whole year for their anniversary.

“I would immediately put it (RM20 notes) aside to prevent myself from spending it,”

According to Nick Hiew, instead of making a dent in his actual bank account, it would be much better to save up the notes directly like that.

He paid for the new iPhone 13 Pro with cash

After a whole year of collecting every single RM20 note, he was finally able to turn his wish into reality by splurging all the money he saved into buying this rather expensive gift for his beloved wife.

He even inserted a video of the retailer employee counting all the bright yellow bills he brought which were nicely set on the counter.

Netizens are impressed by his dedication

This viral posting went viral with over 1.7k likes and 453 shares, netizens were praising Nick Hiew for the loving gesture towards his wife.

“The most realistic way to save up money. I like it!”

Receiving various responses, one user shared their experience buying an iPhone 6s Plus, but instead of RM20 notes, they collected RM50 notes which took them 6 years to save up.

Another user showed their own collection of money. However, instead of cash notes, it was a bucket full of coins! Mentioning that they have collected the coins for almost 5 years already and is going to pay for a phone later when it has reached the targeted amount.

This other user left a remark saying, “If, in America or Europe, it would only take half a month to be able to buy an iPhone 13 Pro”.
