I might not drink for obvious reasons and I’m not sure how to feel about a “halal pub”.

The halal market can be a lucrative one as more individuals prefer to utilize halal products and services. Hence it is normal that more and more people are looking into opening up businesses that carry the halal tag so that they can cater to the demand of the market.

Recently, a Malaysian celebrity, Shah Radhi, announced that he is planning to open a pub, especially for the youngsters to hang out. He’s aiming to open two of them in Subang Jaya, as quoted by Harian Metro, he said,

“I want to establish a place where everyone can just chill, have a drink and listen to some music.”

He added that the “pub” will only serve halal food and drinks. Some people pointed out that that might just mean it’s a ‘normal cafe’ then.

His idea of a halal pub was met with overwhelming criticism from netizens because of obvious reasons.

Others mentioned that he can do whatever he wishes to do, although having a cafe that has a ‘pub-like’ feel may be considered controversial. But we want to know what you think of this idea. Do share with us your thoughts in the comment section below.
