For almost every woman, the dream wedding is one that spares absolutely no expense. Some may want a garden-themed wedding, while others aspire for a beach-side union or more fanciful designs. But for Afza Farzana Ahmad, her sights have always been set on a princess-themed affair, as reported by The Star.
Inspired by Cinderella and Rapunzel growing up, it had always been a lifelong dream of hers to have a picture-perfect wedding reception that would leave even Snow White turning green with envy.
To bring the fantasy to life, Afza’s parents spent well over RM300,000 to have a castle (yes, a whole castle) built for the occasion. Located along Jalan Berapit in Bukit Mertajam, the Cinderella-esque castle has already attracted a sizable audience among the locals upon its completion, with many love-struck couples hoping to capture their own slice of romantic magic in photographs.
The wedding, held on Sunday, featured a grand entrance by the couple who were ferried before the castle front on an ethereal horse-drawn carriage. Waving to over 2000 guests in attendance, Afza and her fiance Muhammad Rusydan Mat Yusof, both 24, then departed for the castle interior as guests were invited to dine under a canopy of tables beautifully peppered with bouquets and romantic candelabras.
A pharmacutical student at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Afza looked nothing short of magnificent in a white wedding gown trimmed with delicate lace.
“I am so grateful that I was able to experience a wedding like this. I hope my husband and I will truly be able to live happily ever after, ” she said.
The couple met in 2013 before officially dating in 2015.
We wish the happy bride and groom all the best for their marriage ahead and hope that they will live happily ever after!
