Where do the gains go in this gym? Your fingers?
You’ve heard of a sports gym and you’ve heard of Pokemon gyms. But have you ever heard of an eSports gym? If we were to localise it, we will just say that it’s a cyber cafe.
However, things work differently at this eSports Gym in Tokyo, Japan. In this gym, you will have to pay 13 USD (RM53) to use one of the gaming computers there for 3 hours. If you’re a heavy gamer, you can pay for a monthly membership with 50 USD (RM206) which will allow you unlimited access. Just like sports gyms, you can also hire a personal trainer for this and it doesn’t come cheap.
An hour with the personal trainer will cost you 25USD (RM103) but it is worth noting that the trainers are from organizations such as Crest Gaming, JeSU, and Glory Be Esports. The games that are loaded into the computers are Japan’s most popular games at the moment, Valorant, League of Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Identity V, and Puyo Puyo.
Although it may sound a little intimidating, the gym is open to everyone from pros to amateurs or even just people who are just starting out. This establishment will be opening its doors to the general public on 19 May, reported Tech Spot.
If one of these establishments opened up in Malaysia, do you think that it will do well? Let us know what you think.
