Classrooms are supposed to be a safe place of learning and growth, but this poor 30-year-old primary school teacher was robbed after a man wearing a red helmet, came into the classroom and snatched her bag.
The victim was teaching at a primary school in Puchong Indah when the suspect who was wearing a red helmet suddenly came into the classroom. He held a piece of paper, pretending to ask her how to find another classroom.
She had been sitting at her desk after asking her pupils to copy notes when the “visitor” rushed into the classroom at 5.20pm on Thursday, 19th April.
According to The News Straits Times, Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Azlin Sadari said before the victim could answer, the suspect grabbed her bag that was placed on the desk.
In attempt to get her bag, she sustained some injuries to her knee. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful and the suspect managed to flee the scene.
Azlin said initial investigations has revealed that the suspect entered the school compound through a back door that was unlocked. It’s highly possible that the suspect had targeted that specific classroom as it was located nearest to the backdoor.
“There were two security guards in the school compound when the incident happened. Investigations are still ongoing,” he said. But clearly for this incident to happen, somebody wasn’t paying attention!
The victim lost her house key, car key, RM100 and her important documents like her driving licence, MyKad and ATM cards.
The investigation is carried out under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.
How traumatising for both the victim and her students! To think, someone would actually be this ruthless and target a primary school! Be safe everyone.
