A recent video has gone viral after an incident in a Kedah neighbourhood showed a man acting suspiciously and being confronted by a resident.

In the clip, the man was seen wheeling several boxes on a wheelbarrow when a woman, driving by, decided to confront him, initially assuming he was simply trying to dispose of rubbish.

Woman confronts suspicious man wheeling several sealed boxes on a wheelbarrow

Later in the video, the woman decided to check the wheelbarrow herself and noted that the boxes were “still heavy,” suggesting there was something inside, especially since the boxes appeared to be sealed.

The story has since been reshared on a Facebook community page, where the victim of the alleged burglary recalled how their home in Yarra Park, Sungai Petani (which is currently under renovation) had been broken into.

“There was a burglary at my house yesterday in Yarra Park, believed to have happened around 2:30 PM after the construction and renovation workers had left.

“The house is undergoing both interior and exterior renovations. The fence had also been temporarily removed for the pool construction, which made it easier for thieves to access the property,” the homeowner said.

The thief allegedly got away with a 65-inch television

The homeowner said the alleged thief was pretending to take out the rubbish with a wheelbarrow, but one of the boxes actually contained an air conditioner.

They claimed that when confronted by the neighbour, the man panicked and ran off, only managing to steal a 65-inch television while leaving the air conditioner behind.

“Luckily, one of our neighbours noticed the suspicious activity. The thief tried to act like he was taking out rubbish, but if it weren’t for the neighbour keeping an eye out, the new items still in boxes, like the air conditioner waiting to be installed, might have been stolen.

“So far, the thief managed to steal a 65-inch Samsung TV that was still in its box. A police report has already been filed. The air conditioner was left behind because the thief panicked when confronted by our neighbour,” the homeowner said.
