Recently, a thief had his robbery master plan set out perfectly after successfully breaking into a house in Beijing, China on March 4, China Press reported. To prevent leaving any evidence, the thief was smart enough to put on gloves and remove his shoes upon entering the house.

From what we see in movies, the thief will usually be caught red-handed due to their exposed feet sticking out of the bed or perhaps their clumsiness in attempt to flee the scene. But for this incident, the thief was revealed in a rather funny yet speechless way.
The owner caught a whiff of a strange scent that was rather foul-smelling as it lingered around the house. Curious about where the unpleasant smell was coming from, he followed the odour, which eventually lead him to the feet of the uninvited visitor under the bed. Kantoi lah!

The stinky feet thief ended his unlucky day by landing himself in the hands of the Hanshan County police. The owner of the house advised the public to tighten their home safety measures, by ensuring that the windows and doors are always locked before leaving, as well as to not leave any valuable belongings at home.
The incident was uploaded on Chinese social media site Weibo by the local police on their official Weibo account, which tickled the Chinese netizens. Most of them expressed their sympathy towards the owner, commenting that the smell must have been really bad for him to be able to locate the thief. Some joked that it would be a nightmare for the other detainees sharing the same room with him at the police station.
Hmm… we wonder how bad the smell actually was.
