A 32-year-old man in Ipoh has yet to land himself a job, even after going through 50 job interviews.

Khairul Akmal Razali said he left university with a degree about 6 years ago, but unfortunately, he has been struggling to find a permanent job. At the time being, Khairul, who is married and has a child, is working as a food delivery rider and a trader at a night market.

The man has no choice but to do what he can at the moment due to commitments. His dream of building a solid career has to be put on hold due to the lack of job offers.

Why the constant rejection?

According to Khairul, he never stops applying for jobs through the Public Service Commission (SPA) and the Education Services Commission (SPP). For years, he repeated the cycle but revealed that he rarely received calls from the other end.

Unfortunately, Khairul’s luck did not fare better in job interviews either, and the answers don’t surprise him anymore.

“One of the answers I usually received was that they couldn’t afford to pay me because I have a degree.”

Khairul also said that for now, he doesn’t mind a low-salary job as long as the working hours are flexible.

“Unfortunately, I haven’t had any luck in getting a permanent job. Even though I have a degree, I am willing to do any job to get by in life.”

Khairul, who graduated in business management, is also running a small-scale business, selling crispy fried sambal around the Station 18 area in Ipoh.

“I am still looking for space and opportunities in any form of employment while continuing to work to strengthen our small business for the survival of the family,” Khairul explained, reported Sinar Harian.

How many job interviews did you have to go through before you found a permanent job?
