The FA Cup final match between Perak and Kedah is taking place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Saturday (27th July) and thousands of people are expected to attend the match tomorrow.
According to The Star, about 85,000 fans are expected to attend the final and around 1,375 police officers will be stationed in and around the stadium to maintain security and control traffic. Bernama reported that roads surrounding the stadium will also be closed, which include;
- The road heading from the Kesas highway to the Sukom traffic light
- Seri Petaling to Jalan Merah Chagar
- Kesas to Jalan Barat
- Awan Kecil traffic light to Jalan Barat
- Awan Besar exit to the Awan Kecil traffic light
- Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) traffic light headed from the Bulatan Kuda roundabout
- TPM traffic light headed to Kinrara
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim was quoted at a press conference as saying,
“We will begin stationing our men in the area from 8am onwards.”
“For those attending, please follow all instructions given by traffic police. Please come early and use public transportation or carpool if possible.”
“Security checks will also be conducted at all entry points into the stadium and contraband like flares, fireworks, laser pointers, alcohol, umbrellas, sticks, sharp objects and weapons will be confiscated.”
On top of that, the city police chief warned that cars parked on the side of the road or on curbs will be fined or towed to the Bukit Jalil police station.
So, if you’re heading to Bukit Jalil tomorrow, be sure to take note of the closed roads. Drive safe, everyone!
