On the second day of Hari Raya (6th June), Syabas announced on their website that unscheduled water cuts would take place after heavy rain caused a large volume of trash to accumulate and clog the mechanical filtration equipment at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant, affecting the production of water.
These water cuts will affect Hulu Langat, Petaling, and Kuala Lumpur in stages and currently, efforts to remove the garbage clogging the filtration system are in progress.
An excerpt from their announcement reads,
“We are working to resolve this problem to reduce the impact of this interruption in the water supply to affected customers.”
According to an announcement on Air Selangor’s Twitter, the water cuts have affected the following areas;
