On the second day of Hari Raya (6th June), Syabas announced on their website that unscheduled water cuts would take place after heavy rain caused a large volume of trash to accumulate and clog the mechanical filtration equipment at the Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plant, affecting the production of water.

These water cuts will affect Hulu Langat, Petaling, and Kuala Lumpur in stages and currently, efforts to remove the garbage clogging the filtration system are in progress.
