From Delta to the new variant, Omicron, we have gone through almost 2 years of the pandemic with new variants constantly propping up from different countries.
Although some experts claim that the discovery of the Omicron variant will be the end of Covid-19, but to everyone’s surprise, something new has emerged!
Discovery of the Deltacron variant
Leonidos Kostrikis who is a scientist from Cyprus, believes that he has discovered a new strain of the Covid-19 virus, which is a combination of the Delta and Omicron variant, known as Deltacron.
For now, 25 individuals have been infected by the new variant.
Scientist also found out that the infectivity rate of the Deltacron variant is higher among patients who have been hospitalised for Covid-19 in comparison to non-hospitalised patients.
Hair loss and conjunctivitis also known as “pink-eye”, are some of the symptoms that someone infected by the variant can be expected to have.
