If you think being short is a disadvantage, you might want to stand up for this.
There’s a hotpot restaurant in Taiwan that gives its customers free slices of meat! But there’s a catch, of course.
To get the free meat, you would need to be shorter than 175cm! Not only that, you get a free slice of meat for every centimeter below 175cm. This means that if you’re 161cm tall like me, you get 14 free slices of meat!
Sorry, all you big foot giants…
The name of the hotpot restaurant is Ai Shi Guo, that specialises in its mala soup base. In a Facebook post, a banner hangs outside the shop saying that height is not a problem.
“We shouldn’t be separated by stature, no stress when eating meat. From today, we are giving you one slice of meat for every cm below 175cm,” it says.
This is only a summer promotion, but it is unclear when this promotion will end.
Ai Shi Guo hotpot restaurant currently has three outlets all across Taiwan, with one being in Kaohsiung and one in Taichung.
They serve soup bases like mala, chicken and pork bone broth, meat with pickled cabbage and double rich pumpkin milk soup. My mouth is watering!
Of course, you can’t just go there and get free slices of meat if you’re shorter than 175cm. There’s a minimum spend of NT$688 (RM91) per person with some soup bases having an extra charge. Plus, a two-hour dining time limit is also imposed.
So, you can’t just sit there and eat free meat all day.
These are the addresses for the three outlets:
297 Yucheng Road, Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan 813
57, Dadun 20th Street, Xitun District, Taichung City, Taiwan 40758
252 Xintian Road, Qianjin District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan 801
Opening hours:
Weekdays: 5:30pm to 01:30am
Holidays: 11:30am to 01:30am
Wow, this is great news for all the shorties out there! Free food! Brb, planning a trip to Taiwan.
