The passing of Tun Rahah Mohamed Noah, wife of Malaysia’s second Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak was indeed a sad ordeal for family and friends of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
With guests coming in from near and far, political friends and foes giving their prayers and thoughts to the affected family, the story of one man who stood outside the gates, opening his palms in prayer caught the attention of those attending the burial ceremony at Masjid Negara, yesterday.
Taking to Twitter, netizen @MohdSofianHilmi shared the story of Azman Hasan and his interview with the Pakcik.
“Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, when I was at Masjid Negara I met this Pakcik who was praying just outside the gates of the mosque.”
“I asked why did he not go in? He responded in saying that he knows his place and would probably be barred from entering.”
Sharing his history with the late Tun Rahah, the Pakcik said that he used to work as the family’s gardener at Tun Rahah’s house.
“Tun Rahah helped him out at the time paying for his medical fees when he needed it.”
“He said that he could never repay her deed and as prayers went on, he too prayed for Tun Rahah.”
To show just how much Tun Rahah meant to him, this Pakcik walked all the way from Kg Baru to Masjid Negara.
Touched by his story, netizens commenting on the post shared just how much this moved them.
It is always nice to hear the good deeds a dearly departed have done for others. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the late Allahyarhamah Tun Rahah Mohamad Noah.
