The amazing woman continues to inspire.
Sumaiyah Ghazali grew up with cerebral palsy making her unable to walk since birth. But the heartfelt story of her going against the odds to complete every delivery has inspired us all.
In a video interview with Berita Harian Singapore, Sumaiyah, 40, said she has just started working with Grab four months ago. She revealed that she is very motivated in doing her job as it empowers her to help her family.Sumaiyah mentioned that the biggest obstacle about the job is the weather. She explained,
She also uses the umbrella to knock on doors if she cannot reach them with her hands.“It is troublesome when it rains. I have to open my umbrella, if the wind is strong, I have to ‘fight’ it because the wind will keep pulling my umbrella away.”
Towards the end of the video, Sumaiyah mentioned that it would be awesome if the customers are more understanding of her condition. She said,
“To all customers, if you see my name, Sumaiyah B, I seek your patience and understanding of people like me whose movements are quite slow. But I will try to deliver as fast as I can.”
The video interview prompted a lot of replies from netizens who applauded Sumaiyah.
Sumaiyah Ghazali has shown us that in life, you can overcome any adversity that happens to us.
