In a video interview with Berita Harian Singapore, Sumaiyah, 40, said she has just started working with Grab four months ago. She revealed that she is very motivated in doing her job as it empowers her to help her family.

Sumaiyah mentioned that the biggest obstacle about the job is the weather. She explained,

“It is troublesome when it rains. I have to open my umbrella, if the wind is strong, I have to ‘fight’ it because the wind will keep pulling my umbrella away.”

She also uses the umbrella to knock on doors if she cannot reach them with her hands.

Towards the end of the video, Sumaiyah mentioned that it would be awesome if the customers are more understanding of her condition. She said,

“To all customers, if you see my name, Sumaiyah B, I seek your patience and understanding of people like me whose movements are quite slow. But I will try to deliver as fast as I can.”

The video interview prompted a lot of replies from netizens who applauded Sumaiyah.
