Many of you are sure to be aware of a brutal, high-profile murder case that is currently being investigated in Thailand.
The horrific murder, which happened on the 23rd of May, involved a karaoke bar employee’s body being sawn in half before being dumped in two buckets and buried in a forest in Thailand’s Khon Kaen province.
Thai police believe that the victim, identified as 23-year-old Warisara Klinju, was murdered as part of a revenge plot by a fellow bar employee and her accomplices.
The primary suspect, Preeyanuch Nonwangchai, or Preaw, was suspected to have orchestrated the murder because she believed Warisara tipped off authorities about her boyfriend, who got arrested for drug-related charges.
According to AsiaOne, although Preaw has been arrested under suspicion of such a horrifying crime, she has received a lot of attention for a completely different reason — her attractive appearance.
There’s no denying that Preaw is indeed attractive, but it is alarming considering how many Thai people are fascinated with her just because of her physical beauty, as she looks like she could be a model or a movie star.
What makes things stranger is that even the authorities are smitten by her good looks!
Photos recently surfaced online, showing two police officers smiling while taking pictures with Preaw, who appears to be wearing a face mask.
Thankfully, the officers were soon punished and transferred out of their posts as soon as the photos became viral at the outrage of Thai netizens.
Netizens were also shocked to find out that the Preaw and the other two suspects were allowed to freely walk around without restraints, put on makeup and even smoke at the police station! Good looking people do deserve better treatment eh?
Despite the negative attention these photos were receiving, many impressionable Thai netizens reportedly started to admire the murder suspects, some of them even seeing them as ‘internet idols’ because of all the attention they were getting.
According to Khaosod, a photo of Preaw in police custody also went viral, and the bag she is holding in the photo reportedly became a trending product, causing even Thailand’s prime minister to criticise the media for glamourising the suspects.
The way the police officers have been going easy on the murder suspects is certainly not helping, either.
The authorities’ friendly and unprofessional behaviour towards these suspects could distort the public’s perception towards them, a Child and Adolescent Mental Health expert shared with Chiangrai Times.
Let’s hope justice is served soon so these suspects are no longer in the limelight!
