Calling all cat lovers, this one is for you!
The Taman Kucing Cyberjaya (Cyberjaya Cat Park) is now open to the public, where people will get to rub shoulders with up to 300 cats.
Local government, public transportation and new village development committee chairman Ng Sze Han took to his Twitter page to showcase the the launch of the park, officiated by Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin. This marks the very first ‘cat park’ in Selangor.
The cats housed at the park are strays that are taken in by the Majlis Perbandaran Sepang to help control the population of street cats. The park has the capacity to house up to 300 cats but for now, they have 31 little furry friends residing there.
But, this does not mean that you can dump your pet cats there. In fact, it’s not allowed!
Along with a cat house, the park is equipped with an office, a clinic with an intensive care unit, a rehabilitation unit, and a mother and kitten care unit.
For those who are interested in visiting (and perhaps adopting!) the cats, only 20 people will be permitted into the cat house at a time.
In order to enter, you must make sure that:
- You are not allergic to cats.
- You are not sick, to avoid infecting the cats.
- Your own pet cats have never had the ‘Sporo’ disease.
The cat house is only open on Sundays, from 8:30am to 11:30am and again at 4pm to 6:30pm.
We genuinely cannot wait to go and meet and pet the kitty cats calling the cat park home. Until then, you can check out the launch of the cat park here.
We’ll see you there bright and early this coming Sunday!
