What if you were told that you look like someone famous? A celebrity, precisely? Will you take that as a compliment?
Just recently, Taiwanese veteran actress Yang Tsiu Hui shared an incident that happened to her at the airport, where she was mistaken for an Ipoh-born actress. When we said Ipoh, you may have already figured out who.
Yes, she’s none other than Michelle Yeoh. In Yang’s Facebook post, she said that her production team and her were approached by 2 American tourists at the airport’s waiting lounge, who asked them an interesting question while holding their phone with Michelle Yeoh’s picture.
“Excuse me. Is the woman seated in front of us Michelle Yeoh?”
The woman who was seated in front of the American tourists was Yang herself. The production team politely told the tourists that Yang was not Michelle, despite being a lookalike.
“Do I really look like Michelle Yeoh?” Yang asked.
She then recalled another incident at home where she was having dinner with her family. At that time, the TV was on and it was broadcasting Michelle’s victory at the Academy Awards. The American tourists were not the only ones “deceived” by how Yang looked like Michelle, but also her father who thought it was an uncanny resemblance.
“Since when did you get an Oscar?”
Yang’s father also thought the Michelle Yeoh on screen was her daughter. She was flattered by the comparison and wondered if she indeed looked like the Malaysian-born actress.
After looking through their pictures, what do you think of it? Would you go to the extent and said they’re doppelgangers?
