Just a couple of months ago, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, expressed his hope that his party, the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), will be officially registered as a political party by this year’s end, despite the multiple rejections the multi-racial and youth-centric group has endured.

Now, his hopes has become a reality.

Syed Saddiq took to his Facebook page to showcase a tearful victory, as he and his party leave the High Court in Kuala Lumpur following their decision to allow for MUDA to be registered.

He wrote, “This is truly an emotional day. I am in tears. MUDA has finally been approved on the orders of the court! We are not here for power, positions and money. We just want to serve Malaysians, regardless of race and religion. We want to build a Malaysia that is developed, dignified and full of integrity. Thank you everyone. You made this possible.”

Outside of the courthouse, Syed Saddiq shared that despite having a year full of obstacles, the court’s decision will make way for MUDA to fight for the betterment of all Malaysians.

Muda 4

“Today’s decision is not to destroy Malaysia, but to develop the country, strengthen political services, raise the voices of the young and build the country like a house that represents all Malaysians.”

“Our journey begins today and we will prove to the people that we are here to work for them”, he said.

Based on a report by Utusan Malaysia, the High Court ordered the Home Ministry (KDN) to allow for MUDA to be registered as a political party within the next 15 days, and to pay their legal costs of RM10,000.

What do you think of MUDA’s victory? Share your thought in the comment section.
