Former Malaysian badminton athlete and national sports legend Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei recently took to his official Facebook page to heap praises on the new Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh for her initiatives and quick actions to improve the Malaysian sports scene. In the post, Chong Wei shared how he was invited by Hannah to attend the National Sports Council’s (NSC) board of managers meeting to provide his opinion as a former national athlete in dealing with issues relating to our national sports scene.
Chong Wei further asserted that he was both surprised and honoured by the invitation by the new Youth and Sports Minister. Firstly, he felt proud and honoured to be invited as a former national athlete to provide input on how NSC could and should deal with issues plaguing our country’s sports management.
Moreover, Chong Wei also shared that he was surprised at Hannah’s quick action to go straight to work for the betterment of Malaysia’s sports scene even though our national political drama just ended. The former badminton athlete shared,
“I’m honoured to be invited to give my opinion as a former national athlete in dealing with our country’s sports management issues. I’m also surprised because our nation’s political drama only just ended (thankfully, a happy ending), but YB Hannah Yeoh right away acted and start to work. Fast.”
He then ended the post with words of hope and well wishes, hoping that our country’s political scene remains peaceful, our currency increases in value and our sports scene continues to develop. Awesome!
