The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has agreed to accept the Covid-19 vaccine injection, only after all frontline staff, including teachers, have received the injection. Istana Alam Shah in a post on Facebook Selangor Royal Office on Friday (27 Feb) stated that Sultan Sharafuddin stressed that the priority of administering the Covid-19 vaccine at this time should be focused on frontline staff as they face a higher risk of infection.

Therefore, according to the statement, he will continue to comply with the standard operating procedures set, including wearing face masks, practising physical imprisonment and staying home if there is no business outside until all the frontline workers get the Covid-19 vaccine.

His majesty also advises all citizens, especially in Selangor, to get the Covid-19 vaccine injection as scheduled by the Ministry of Health. He also reminded the people not to be deceived by certain groups who claim to be anti-vaxxers. Sultan Sharafuddin also said that the government’s efforts through the provision of the Covid-19 vaccine are in line with religious demands, and should be done for the health and well-being of the people as a whole.
