It is not even the end of the day yet, but there has already been lots of drama unfolding in today’s GE15.
From rule breaking, to blackouts and floods, there appears to be no shortage of things going wrong.
A Malaysian has just taken to Facebook to accuse the authorities of denying his father’s right to vote as they claimed that somebody had already casted his vote on behalf of him.
In his Facebook post titled ‘Black GE15 Day for My Family’, the Malaysian wrote, “My 70-year-old dad never thought that his rights to vote would be violated. Sadly it was.”
“Waking up early this morning, praying for this beloved country that he is so patriotic about, he followed me to the 15th General Election enthusiastically to cast his vote. However, to his disappointment, he found out that somebody had casted his vote on behalf of him.”
“He is now sadly a victim who was robbed of his freedom to vote. He was robbed of his only opportunity to exercise his rights as a citizen of this country,” wrote the man.
He then asked how this was allowed to happen in the first place. “How was another person deliberately allowed to forge my dads only identity as a citizen of this country?”
“Bolehland seems to be possible for anything these days. Sadly, my dad has become a victim to this dirty, selfish and self-centred scheme of robbing authentic peoples identity and giving the cheaters and government officials to gain an income out of this barbaric act.”
Meanwhile, he stated that he has lodged a police report and demanded an answer for his claims.
He also added that the heard the police speaking on the phone to a “Tuan” saying that there have already been 4 similar cases reported so far.
As of now, no statements have been issued by the Election Commission nor the authorities.
