Malaysians who tried to book a slot for the AstraZeneca opt-in vaccination programme yesterday (26 May) were pent up with frustration after many failed to secure a spot for themselves or their family members.
However, it seems like some people have allegedly discovered that their application has gone through after multiple failed attempts.
One netizen, who reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ, confirms this and has since shared how her mother managed to secure a slot despite the website showing that the slots were full.
Here’s her story:
“I managed to convince my whole family to register for the AstraZeneca vaccine and even briefed them on what to do at 11.45am, 15 minutes before the scheduled opening time. I hoped that we could all get a slot on the same day, so when the booking opened, we rushed to enter our details on the JKJAV website.
But after seeing that the website was extremely faulty and not responding to our taps and clicks, I told my family to try their luck on any available slot in Kuala Lumpur.
After spamming all the buttons, I managed to get through and subsequently, my dad got through as well.
My brother had a bit of a problem, but he successfully received the ‘Thank you for registering!’ message after trying on a different device.
However, my mum just couldn’t get in as she kept getting that pop-up message saying that all the slots are full. I tried to help her using my phone, my laptop, another laptop and an iPad but each attempt just ended in disappointment and frustration.
Eventually, the booking closed and we stopped trying. My mum said that many of her friends couldn’t get in as well, with many experiencing the same thing with the website.
This morning (27 May), my dad’s friends, who failed to book a slot initially, told him that their application had gone through after checking the MySejahtera app.
My mum immediately checked hers as well, and lo and behold, the app showed that her first dose appointment has been secured!
Strangely, my brother still has not received a confirmation of his booking on the MySejahtera app even though his booking initially went through.”
Another netizen who reached out to WORLD OF BUZZ also confirms that he and two friends managed to secure a slot after failing multiple times yesterday.
“Yesterday I got mine stuck at the submit page, where I spam a lot. I guess it did go through and I got an appointment already,” he said.
“Woke up this morning to check MySejahtera cause my sis told me there’s a possibility that my application might have gone through. Pleasantly surprised to see it has.”
“I’m assuming for those that managed to spam the submit button yesterday but didn’t get the ‘thank you’ page, the registration did go through in the end.”
Similarly, many others have shared similar experiences as well.
WORLD OF BUZZ has reached out to Khairy Jamaluddin’s secretary for a statement on this matter but has yet to receive a reply at the time of writing.
If you failed to book a slot yesterday, check your MySejahtera app to see your application status! However, do note that not everyone who couldn’t book a slot managed to get through.
