In a development to the current Covid-19 situation in Malaysia, it has been confirmed by the chairperson of SJK (C) Subang that one of their students has tested positive for the virus after returning from a trip in East Malaysia.
The revelation was made through reports by both China Press and Sin Chew Daily, who managed to reach out to the school over the matter. The Standard Two student was said to have arrived back in the Peninsular on the 17th of this month, before attending school shortly after. Upon testing positive, the student was promptly sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital to receive treatment.
A list of individuals who have had close contact with the patient have also been sent to the local Health Department according to a WhatsApp message sent to members of the press, and relevant parties will be contacted to undergo screening.
School authorities have said that they are waiting upon further instruction from the Ministry of Health as to whether classes will be suspended, and have announced that sanitisation and disinfection procedures will be conducted on school premises this coming Tuesday (1st September 2020). Students from the school are advised to remain home over the Merdeka weekend.
As this is a developing story, more information will be provided as they are made available to the media.
