Malaysia gets two golds from the Karate team in SEA Games 2023 which is held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!
Malaysian athlete Shahmalarani A/P Chandran brings home the nation’s first gold in the SEA Games 2023 Karate – Women’s Kumite below 50kg event. She defeated Junna Tsukii Villanueva from the Philippines, who is the champion for 2022 World Games.
The country’s second gold is won by Prem Kumar A/L Selvam in the Karate – Men’s Kumite below 55kg event. he gained victory over Thailand’s Chanphet Setthaphong by a close score.
Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh proudly takes a picture with the two gold medalists, and congratulated them in a Facebook posting today.
Besides the two gold medals, Malaysia also gained eight Bronze medals and two silver medals in SEA Games 2023, as of the time of writing.
