Scalpers are everywhere and yes, they’re not just out there to hunt for concert tickets and resell them at a ridiculously high price.

Just recently, Hot Wheels Malaysia shared a post and announced the highly-anticipated Hot Wheels Proton Saga, which is now available for purchase at major departmental, toy specialty, and convenience stores in the country. It is not a limited edition but is being sold as a Hot Wheels Basic Car.

The retail price is at RM9.90 but thanks to scalpers who have bought LOTS of them, the prices can get unimaginably high.

For instance, on the online shopping platform, Shopee, scalpers are selling it at as low as RM60, and as high as RM319.99! Keep in mind that the Proton Saga model is not even a limited edition and yet, the prices set by the scalpers are skyrocketing!

This latest Hot Wheels edition is designed at a 1:64 scale to replicate Proton’s very 1st model, the 1985 Saga. It is also intended to be a special tribute to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Mattel in Malaysia.

In the meantime, on its Facebook page, Hotwheels Malaysia also announced that they will be having live unboxing sessions at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, where fans can expect to take a first look at the Proton Saga die-cast model.

The live unboxing session will take place on October 8 and 15 at 10 am, and October 14 at 5 pm. We hope you get these models at the retail price if you’re a keen collector!
