Taking flights to cross borders may be the most convenient mode of transport but sometimes they can get rather tiring. That’s why we should all be courteous to ensure everything goes smoothly since everyone is crammed together in the same metal tube for hours!
However, a recent incident that was shared on Chinese social media showed two parents who apparently did not understand this concept because when their kid acted rudely, they actually got into a fight with the other passenger.
According to Oriental Daily, the 5-year-old kid was sitting with his parents on a Southern China Airline flight that was headed to Beijing when he started acting up and kicking the seat in front of him. Don’t you hate it when that happens?
The passenger turned around to gently admonish the child but not only did the parents not apologise for their son’s behaviour, they even got triggered and started arguing with the passenger. The child’s mother verbally abused the innocent passenger and even used foul words to scold the passenger. Your son is watching, you know!
Eventually, the kid’s father joined in the fray and made it into a physical scuffle as he started to hit the passenger. Well, that escalated quickly! Several flight attendants tried to break up the fight but failed to do so.
Finally, the passenger who had previously tried to avoid fighting couldn’t take it anymore and fought back. Netizens who saw the incident said that the passenger managed to knockout the mother. Wow!
Their rowdy behaviour didn’t come without consequences though, because the flight attendants had already lodged reports with ground control who dispatched police and ambulances to the plane once it landed. Due to the unexpected fight, other passengers were not allowed to leave until the law enforcement agencies had arrived and remanded the parties involved, which caused unnecessary delays.
All these could have been avoided easily with just one word of apology! Be considerate and courteous, parents because your child will learn their habits from you!
