If you’re a sneakerhead then you would know that the Jordan brand has just dropped some new kicks known as Air Jordan 1 Game Royal and selected shops in Malaysia had those long awaited shoes.
As with any other new release and limited edition sneakers, there are bound to be queues as eager fans wait for their chance to score some shoes.
However, fans who were queuing at a store in Sunway Pyramid were disappointed when they said that the store did not have proper queue management. This resulted in dissatisfaction as those that were there early got their place taken when a gang of gangster-like people came and cut their queue.
One of the people who were queuing there shared his frustration online and told the story of what happened when they were there for the release on March 24, at 10am. He and a bunch of other customers had arrived at the store at 8am and were queuing patiently. However, a gang of people arrived and had cut into the queue without hesitation. When another guy tried to stop them, the presumed leader in a cap got aggressive.
“The guy asked him nicely to leave, but he wouldn’t and he instantly threatened to fight and beat anyone that films him acting aggressively. He spotted someone recording him and proceeded to kick him and then that gangster threatened to kill him if he posts the video on Facebook or Instagram, but at the end he was still told to just get in line, which he ‘did’.”
An hour later when the staff of the shop came to open up, the gang of people ignored other people’s protests to get in line. Everyone was rushing to get a place and in the ensuing scuffle, the netizen had his spectacles broken by one of the rude people who had barged in.
The people who arrived earlier tried to tell the shop staff that they had arrived first but the staff ignored them. “Even though I gave the staffs proof that we came first before them, but they just ignored us and proceeded round 2 of taking the list, which the entire gang just snatched 90% of it so they get to take all the shoes by themselves. Hell, the boss doesn’t even give a damn about it AT ALL,” he wrote.
In the end, a police report was made and he said that he hopes this kind of unruly behaviour would stop whenever there were launches of a similar kind. It’s not the first time these kind of things has happened too! He said, “Stop being quiet and let this slide. Everyone has to stop being selfish and unite as one to just tell the gangsters and poor shop management off, otherwise we’ll never win.”
