Ride-hailing apps have made our life easier, because we don’t have to solely rely on Malaysia’s public transport system to get around anymore. We know as of the current state, they are not exactly the best.
While the majority of our rides with these apps have been smooth and trouble-free, there are people who encounter less-than-satisfactory experiences every once in a while. Inevitable lah since there are so many weird humans out there.
A Facebook page shared a post written by a user recounting her experience with one of the e-hailing services. She writes how she very regularly uses Grab, but unfortunately ‘today’ she had a bad experience with a driver.
“When I entered the car, the driver was pissed off and asked me why I did not wait at the traffic light. I told him that usually, residents living in the flat will wait in front of the gate, not at the traffic light outside.”
“When we were almost reaching my destination, he stopped at the side, near the drop-off point. I asked him why did he stop there instead of at the location I’ve set. He answered me, “Your fare is only RM4, you still want me to drop you off exactly at the location?” I don’t see what is the issue, RM4 is still money and I’ve paid for the service!”
The user expresses how unreasonable the driver was. When she threatened to report him to Grab for his bad behaviour, he had the audacity to stop her from leaving his car!
“Immediately he got angry and didn’t want to let me get down from the car. It was only after I took out my phone to record him that he allowed me to alight.
“After that I called Grab and made a report straight away about the incident.”
And Grab has immediately attended to her report and is doing an investigation on the case.
The user reminds everyone that they should always becareful while using e-hailing rides such as Grab or Uber. Of course, taxis are no exception too!
In the video the lady shared, the driver can be seen getting down angrily from the car and they seem to be having some sort of verbal disagreement. The driver scolds her saying, “Why did you close the door like that? So rude!” She replies him, “I gave you the location but you didn’t drop me off at the exact place!”
After the post went viral, there were some netizens who sympathised with the driver and said, “You also provoked the uncle by slamming the door. Even if he didn’t drop you off at the exact place, you could have just walked a short distance anyway.”
Who do you think was at fault?
