Malaysia breaks records once again with 19,819 new Covid-19 cases as of 4 August. This means that cases have skipped the 18,000 mark and is now hitting close to 20,000.
Selangor alone records 8,377 cases while Kuala Lumpur records 2,467 cases. Three others states, namely Johor, Kedah, and Kelantan recorded over 1,000 cases.

Meanwhile, the infectivity rate as of 3 August stands at 1.07, which means that one infected person is able to spread the virus to 1.07 other people. The infectivity rate graph shows a slight downward trend, although cases are still hitting all-time highs in recent weeks.
As of 3 August, a total of 14,711,532 people in Malaysia have had their first dose of the vaccine while 7,440,835 people have received their second dose.
