Three men were arrested after patrol officers doing their rounds in Cyberjaya caught them loading police equipment into a Proton Waja.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Husin said during a press conference that the incident happened on May 15, when the men were seen handling police gear that requires official clearance, according to Sin Chew Daily.

Further investigations revealed that one of them, a 64-year-old retired police sergeant, owned the equipment, which included replica submachine guns, semi-automatic pistols, revolvers, handcuffs, police uniforms, jackets, boots, patrol car lights, and even police roadblock signs.
He was believed to have missed being in the force, so he offered himself to a film company to play a police officer to satisfy his “police addiction.”
Following this, the retired sergeant teamed up with two men to purchase the fake police equipment online.

“The men’s actions still broke the law”
Husin confirmed that although the three men weren’t involved in any criminal activity, pretending to be police officers and possessing replica firearms were still violations under the Police Act and Arms Act. As a result, they were arrested to assist in the investigation.
The trio is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960, Section 89 of the Police Act 1967, and Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a public servant.
Husin also reminded that any film company planning to shoot scenes involving the police must notify the authorities beforehand.
