The wonders of the internet have enabled us to do many things. With ride-sharing apps, it’s never been easier to get around if you don’t have a car of your own.
However, with these services come their fair share of questionable users.
Grab has recently introduced their latest service, GrabShare. This service helps match you with other users whose destinations are on the same route as yours. Using this service offers up to 30% lower fares.
Needless to say, this service is becoming increasingly popular among Grab users because of the lower and more affordable rates.
However, there have been some eyebrow-raising comments on Grab’s Facebook post about this service, many of them complaining about sharing rides or picking up foreign customers!
Seriously? Not cool!
To make things worse, even a few drivers complained about the same thing, asking Grab to give them the choice to reject customers based on race. Unbelievable!
Grab did respond to one driver’s complaint about rejecting customers based on their ethnicity, stating that they do not have such a feature.
The amount of racist comments surfacing on this post is undoubtedly alarming and makes us question the mentality of some Malaysians.
For a country that takes pride in its diversity, many Malaysians seem angered by the presence of immigrants who are simply looking to make a life here. Why is that?
We urge Malaysians to think before they jump to conclusions about these people, and hope that they realise the error of their ways.
